What do I need to start using the kitchen?
A valid copy of HK Business Registration Certificate verifying registration as a corporation or business entity.
A copy of a valid FEHD Hygiene Course Certificate for all kitchen users.
General liability insurance policy with Kitchen Sync Ltd listed as an additional insured for HK $1million.
Signed Operating Agreement and Guidebook.
‘Made at Kitchen Sync’ logo on your website (file provided by Kitchen Sync).
Attendance at Monthly Meetings.
Refundable security deposit of HK $1,500.
Non refundable application fee of HK $200.
Annual membership fee of HK$ 1,800.
When do I need to reserve kitchen time?
Calendars will available for the current and following month. The calendars will be available on the 1st of each month. Hours are reserved on a first reserved, first served basis.
Will I have exclusive use of the kitchen?
No. The kitchen will be available to multiple food business at any given time. You will be assigned a work station based on space availability. Should you require exclusive use of the kitchen, please contact the Kitchen Manager. Extra hours will be deducted from your package to cover the extra space used.
When do I pay for kitchen usage?
Payment is due prior to your use of the kitchen. If you are reserving multiple blocks of time for the month, your advance payment is needed to reserve those times. In the case of a one-time use, payment will be required prior to using the kitchen.
What if I don’t use all of my hours for the month?
Hours cannot be credited to the following month. We understand that it is hard to estimate how many hours you’ll need but due to the nature of the business it is extremely important that you try to estimate as accurately as possible in order to choose a package which will best suit your needs.
What if I need to buy extra hours in a month?
If there is unreserved time available, additional hours can be purchased at the same rate you’re paying for that month.
Does each person clean up after themselves?
Yes. You are expected to leave the kitchen in immaculate condition after you’ve finished your time slot. Please wash your dishes, wipe down dirty surfaces, sweep, mop, clean equipment used, etc. Please allow yourself time to clean within your scheduled time slot otherwise you will be charged by the hour additionally for the extra time used to clean. If you do not clean after usage, a non-refundable cleaning fee of HK$800 will be assessed.
Can I use the kitchen’s address as my actual business address?
Yes, you can put it on your products, website and business cards.
Can I receive deliveries?
Yes, you should try to schedule your food or packaging deliveries during your time in the kitchen. If this is not possible then you will need to sign a delivery agreement and make arrangements with the kitchen manager or with another member to sign and store your deliveries for you.
Can I have my product picked up by couriers or clients?
Yes, again you will be responsible for your arrangements. Non-authorized persons are not allowed into the kitchen area but may collect goods from the office.
What if something breaks?
While we work hard to maintain equipment, plumbing and other parts of a commercial kitchen, the reality is that equipment breakdowns can be expected. We ask that all members alert us immediately if anything is not working properly so we can handle the problem as soon as possible. Please be advised that if you’ve caused the damage by mishandling, you will be held responsible.
